Portrait of Uta

About Uta

Uta's journey into the arts began with a formal education in fashion design, where she graduated with honors from the University of Hamburg. Her early career was a dynamic period of international collaboration, working as a freelance designer for leading clients across Europe and Asia. From overseeing production in Hong Kong to crafting product lines in Italy and Denmark, she honed a meticulous eye for form, texture, and the narrative power of design.

A move to Brussels marked a pivotal shift, inspiring a deeper focus on the more immediate and expressive worlds of painting and graphic arts. Immersing herself in the local arts scene, Uta became a regular contributor to exhibitions, including the celebrated 'Kunst in Overijse'.

Detail from Uta's studio

Today, Uta's work is a direct reflection of her profound connection to the natural world. She finds inspiration in people, animals, and flora, pursuing the delicate task of capturing a subject's core emotion. Using a vibrant interplay of lines, color, and form with her preferred acrylic and gouache mediums, she transforms canvas and cardboard into deeply personal and resonant visual stories.
